A Trip To Town – Birmingham

This weekend was something a little bit different for me. Now I know I have had my blog almost a year now (how crazy is that! It’s nearly been a year!) but I have never actually been out for a “photoshoot”. I hate saying that, I don’t know why I think it’s just because I have never done it before. Anyway, I did it and I really enjoyed it.

It was a pretty last minute plan with one of my fellow blogger friends Chloe. If you love anything girly and pink you will love her blog so make sure to check that out here as well. We headed into the city centre mainly so Chloe could get some photos that she needed. I didn’t expect to get many myself. I was simply playing photographer for the day. However, I did manage to get a fair few and I was pretty happy with how some of them came out!

As you can probably tell something clearly made me laugh here. I don’t particularly like this one but it’s always good to throw in one of the failed photos for the lols isn’t it.

I genuinely had a really lovely day. We had a stroll round by the art gallery. We also went to a little tea room in Grand Central called Cocoa. I believe one of the former contestants off the Great British Bake Off has opened it. It was such a cute little place. The cakes were absolutely unreal, they were presented on a little wooden board with loads of extras to make the cake look really atheistically pleasing. Unfortunately it doesn’t come out on a wooden board with all the extras but the cake was still delicious.

Of course I had to grab a mocha while I was there. I couldn’t go to a tea room and not get my favourite hot drink. I am pretty sure the people working there knew we were getting content for our blog with all the pink things that we had going on. They even brought my mocha out in a pink cup!

Not forgetting the pink flower wall that they had next to some of the seating areas. I mean who doesn’t love a good pink flower wall for some cute pictures? We definitely took full advantage of the fitting atheistic that we had all around us.

I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable I was when taking pictures with other people around. Let alone them being full length photos (that’s a little insecurity of mine… we will save that one for another post). However, I wouldn’t say I was completely comfortable but you know, we are taking small steps! In fact me and Chloe have already been discussing some other places that we can go to get some good content for our blogs. Very exciting stuff! So stay tuned for that.

It feels so good to be back on the blog, with a plan in place and a lot of motivation! If you had wondered where I have been you can catch up in my previous post here. My new blog schedule start from this post so you can check that out on my Twitter for when to expect a new post! Also let me know in the comments how you feel about taking photos when you’re out in public? Do you get a little self-conscious like me? I don’t know what it is but I just feel so awkward at times! Although I know in time I will be semi-okay with it I hope!

Oh gosh I am awful when it comes to taking pictures in public because I get overwhelmed with paranoia. I went to a local restaurant for a shoot with a photographer and even though he was lovely, I couldn’t stop jerking and moving around in my photos as I was increasingly getting more and more nervous. I hope to overcome this one day!

On another note – I’m so happy that you have found your footing and I really can’t wait to see more posts!

Oh Lizzie you must be braver than I am! I couldn’t imagine myself doing a proper shoot with a photographer so well done to you! I’m sure we will all get better at it with time… hopefully! Also thank you! I am so glad to be back, I feel like I am in a better rhythm with it all now which feels great.

I loved this post – the photos are gorgeous and I loved hearing about your day out with Chloe.
I need to go to Cocoa, it sounds amazing!
I also feel very self-conscious when taking photos in public, especially when people make comments about it! It’s odd really because when you go to different cities and places you never feel as self-conscious having your photo taken! x

Thank you so much Katrina! I am glad you enjoyed it! It is honestly such a cute little tea room also really cheap and cheerful which is always a bonus! Omg I know if I was in London I think I would feel completely normal but in Birmingham it felt so strange! xxx
