Yes you read it correctly, last week I took a random trip to London for the day! I absolutely loved it! Anyone who knows me will know just how much I wish I lived there because it’s honestly one of my favourite places (idc if people think i’m crazy, I love it).
I thought why not share with you guys what I got up to and where I went. Lately I have been feeling really crap and this was a very impulsive trip but defiantly much needed. I am slowly realising that I need to put myself first for a change and do things for myself that I enjoy. So this is stage one of that change!
I got the train to London Marylebone and headed for the underground. Obviously I had to take a trip to Oxford Street just to have a browse and a nose at all the makeup. I didn’t end up buying any makeup which was a change. There was nothing I really wanted that badly. I really wanted to go to the Morphe store but it’s out in Stratford and I didn’t really want to go that far out. However, I did pick up a cute black studded bag from Primark!
After I had a wonder around Oxford Street I headed over to Piccadilly Circus. That place is amazing, the atmosphere is so lovely. I had a listen to some of the singers and saw a few street performers. I would have loved to go and watch a show but it wasn’t possible with how last minute it all was…. gutted! After that I went over to Leicester Square and had a look round the Christmas market. They had so many cute Christmas lights as you can imagine I was definitely in my element.
As it was coming up to remembrance Sunday. The Tower of London were putting on a light show if you like. They were lighting 10,000 candles in honour of those who lost their lives in the First World War. It was so pretty and really emotional actually. Unfortunately it was raining pretty badly so I didn’t stay for too long as my umbrella wasn’t cooperating with me. I got absolutely soaked! So I couldn’t get any pictures of the show which is really sad.
Before heading for my train I went for some food at Vapianos. Now if you don’t know about Vapianos you really need to get to know! This restaurant is unreal. They make the tastiest pasta dishes ever and pizza! All in front of you and so quickly. It’s such a chilled vibe in there as well which was so nice. I first had one in Amsterdam earlier this year and LOVED IT! I have said already that they need to open one in Birmingham pronto!
All in all I am so happy I went for the day, it was just really lovely to go wherever I wanted and do something for me! I have never done anything like this before so it was something really different for me. I will be planning lots of other little day trips for myself soon. Who knows where I’ll go next? Any suggestions of cute little place, please do let me know!
