I was so excited when I received the invite for this event. Not only did it mean I got to catch up with some of my best blogging pals. I also got to have a look at the hottest trends and fashion pieces that are making our way this Spring/Summer.
Firstly I want to say a massive thank you to Emily who runs Coventry Bloggers for the invite. It really was a lovely evening. Me and the girls caught the train to Coventry and headed for a beautiful building in the middle of the city centre. When arriving we were greeted with a welcome drink and we had a chance to catch up with people and have a nice chit chat.
The event was split into two rooms. One for fashion and one for beauty. We started in the main room which was fashion. I had a chance to speak to lots of lovely people about the upcoming trends and styles some of the big brands are going for in Spring/Summer.
I had a lovely chat with Dayna who is a visual merchandiser at Topshop. She was so lovely and her outfit was on point! It was a gorgeous black and white checkered suit which she had paired with some white trainers. I loved it! While we were chatting she went through what we expect to see in Topshop soon, it included; some really cool mom jeans, funky belts and some really cute bags!
Topshop is one of those stores that is a little difficult for me to shop in. I absolutely love all the clothes in there, especially their jeans but nothing ever fits me. After chatting with Dayna it gave me a little glimpse of hope as they are trying to become more inclusive. I am excited to go and have a look at the clothes and hopefully come out with a whole new wardrobe and looking stylish for once!
Set up in the beauty room there was a lovely lady from Dior who was telling us all about the new 24 hour foundation. I will definitely pop into Debenhams to have a closer look as they have 3 different types of this foundation. She also kindly gave us a few little samples of their new fragrances and a little mini Lip Maximiser. Can we PLEASE! Just take a minute to appreciate how cute that little Dior lipgloss is. I didn’t expect it to be as cute as that (I have tried it and it’s amazing, just saying!).
The lovely girls from Benefit were also there who work in the Coventry Debenhams. They demonstrated the new palettes that have launched. They come in two different shades and have some of the holy grail Benefit products in there. I loved this one which also has the Hoola bronzer in there (all time fave!). The highlighter was right up my street! It’s a gold-ish toned highlighter which was so glittery! The other palette is more pink-ish toned which is cute!
I then had a chance to speak to a lovely lady from Clarins who went through some skincare tips with me. As I have oily skin it was really interesting to find learn some new tricks. Turns out that to help oily skin I should be using oil to fight oil. She very kindly gave me some samples of their new products to test out. I will update you guys when I have put them to the test after I have finished with my current faves. Now I need to take a trip to Coventry to get a full “skin assessment” from her.
Just before we finished up with some group photos I had my nails painted a lovely nude colour by a lovely lady who is going to be working in the day spa that will be opening up in Coventry at the new Water Park! I have never been to a spa so I am tempted to go and check it out, maybe get a facial? I don’t mind if I do…
All in all the evening was lovely. I really enjoyed meeting lots of new people and catching up with some of my best blogging gals. I really have missed them! I’ve never been to Coventry up until I went to this event. I was super excited to see that they have a big Ikea right in the centre! How did I not already know about this? There’s lots of exciting things to come in Coventry and I can’t wait to get more involved with some of the exciting things to come with Coventry Bloggers… I’ll keep you all posted!
